Portraits of the Road

In the summer of 2015 I took part in an overland journey of over 8000 miles through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and China. This series is a collection of portraits showing the people I encountered on the way and the roads less travelled. Aleksandra Brizgalova and I found interviewing these people and collecting their stories endlessly fascinating. We asked about their home, work and what made them happy. Family, health and wellbeing were recurring themes and it was always heart-warming to be welcomed and embraced as visitors.
